MCRC Discord Channel

In an effort to create more options for our members to connect and get answers to tech questions, we've set up a Discord channel for member communications. Discord is an online text forum & voice chat application for your computer or phone. It's a great place to get club announcements and tech help in a chat format.

If you're already a user of Discord, or brand new to it, you can use this link to request access to the MCRC group: request member access to MCRC Discord Channel

MCRC P25 Talkgroup Reflector

The Club's official P25 Talkgroup Reflector is now live. [MCRC P25 CHAT]

This is a gateway only (for now) Talkgroup for P25 digital mode. Again this is for club members who hold a valid amateur license. You have to update your Pi/MMDVM/WPSD hot spot with the latest hostfile to see the Club's Talkgroup from the drop down menu. For those who are using any other gateway. The Club's P25 Talkgroup is 5945.

You can search this link: list of P25 Talkgroups. Hope to see you on the dashboard and hear from you soon.

MCRC USA Zello Channel

We're excited to announce that we've set up a Zello channel to make club communications easier and more accessible.
To get started:

  • Download the Zello app on your smartphone
  • Create a user accont on Zello (free) not the subscrition one)
  • Please include your GMRS or Amateur Radio call sign in your Zello profile/contact description so other members can easily identify you
  • Search for and join the "MCRC USA" channel (note the space)

Zello is a push-to-talk comms app that works anywhere you have an internet connection. It's a great way to stay connected whether you're at home, traveling, or on the go. If you prefer dedicated hardware, Zello also supports compatible push-to-talk radios.

We're always looking for new ways to keep our members connected, no matter where we are on this beautiful planet. In the near future, we'll also be opening our Zello channel to non-MCRC members from around the country, giving us an opportunity to meet fellow radio enthusiasts, share ideas, and make new friends.

We hope you'll join us on MCRC USA. It should be a lot of fun, and we look forward to hearing you on the channel!

MCRC MeshCore

An official MCRC MeshCore thread has been posted on the club's MyGMRS discussion forum. Check out all the details including info for joining the official MCRC MeshCore channel. You can also post questions about this exciting new communications technology.
